Music History

Despite the fact that music has a very long history, there is very little evidence on how music might have sounded thousands of years ago. Even the fact that music existed back then, it is thanks to tangible artifacts found by archeologists. The only early and relatively not very old audio document we have today, is the one recorded by Emile Berliner an American of German origin in 1887.

To understand how music evolved through the years into the different styles that we enjoy today, students should travel back in time and study at least the most popular artistic periods and composers who have had a great impact in the music development.

These periods are; Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th Century and Present the 21st Century.
